Dida is a Lebanese-Swiss musician, who composes and sings in Lebanon. She received her musical education in Switzerland at the Swiss Jazz School. After finishing her training, she decided to return to her home country to search for her roots – particularly her linguistic and musical roots. She now works on re-discovering old and nearly forgotten Arabic songs as well as on improvisation. Squeezed between these two worlds and musical heritages, Dida is going about finding her own way. Her fantasy language, in which she often sings, is one of the consequences. Dida‘s special voice, her subtle arrangements and lyrics pave her unique and emotional way to a newly created place between those things that we call traditions.
